Singularity.Sg Blog

The Singularity.Sg Blog is the platform for disseminating information about Singularity and its products.
The choice of this logo came through the grace of serendipity. I was surfing through web when I came across this crowdsourcing design site called 99Designs. They have a really interesting concept of organising offering a pool of freelance designers who would be competing to earn the prize money offered by clients. So essentially, if you purchase a package of let’s say, $399 USD, you’d get dozens of designs from these freelancers and you’d get to choose which one you prefer.
So, I made a random Google search for “Singularity” and what do you know, there was some guy who had earlier gone through 99Designs for the logo and I could see all his samples there. Some of the designs were really cool and I was thinking that it was all a waste that the unselected ones are now doomed for oblivion. That’s when I saw the Singularity.Sg logo right there with the “milky way” galaxy swirl behind the words. The name was synonymous with a astronomy phenomenon so I thought having something like the galaxy swirl would gel with my idea.

Singularity.Sg is taking shape

Today, I went to an Android Workshop at the Google office near Tanjong Pagar. The session was more of a beginner’s kickstart to Android Development and doesn’t really go into the details of Android application development.

In any case, it was still an informative session and the guys from Streammedia Pte Ltd did a great job of organising the workshop. Kudos to Hean Hong and Ziyong and everyone involved in organising this workshop. It was also an eye opener to be inside a Google compound. Although it’s not as cool as the Googleplex, it was nonetheless still a model for all tech-related offices to emulate.

Unique. Like Everyone Else.
